About Cosmo Peel 15%

Cosmo Peel 15% is a professional superficial TCA peel, chosen for specific pigmentation and texture concerns like superficial sun spots, roughness and fine lines.

Key Ingredient: TCA

Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) at 15% encourages controlled exfoliation and skin renewal.

How your skin responds comes down to how the peel is applied as well as its strength, so your treatment and recovery plan are worked out individually.

Sun Spots

For superficial sun spots.

Texture

Aims for smoother feeling skin.

Fine Lines

Can soften the look of fine lines.

Two To Four

A course of two to four treatments may be suggested.

Expected Results

Goals can include smoother texture, a more even complexion, and softer looking superficial sun spots and fine lines.

We review your results once your skin has recovered. More visible peeling doesn't automatically mean more improvement.

Sessions, Appointment And Downtime

  • Sessions: a course of two to four treatments may be recommended. Spacing is personalised and decided at your consultation, based on your concerns, how your skin responds and the treatment protocol.
  • Appointment: usually around 45 minutes.
  • Downtime: redness, tightness, dryness and visible flaking or peeling can happen. We'll explain what recovery to expect before your treatment.

Is It Right For You?

Cosmo Peel 15% can be considered for all skin types, subject to individual assessment. Before recommending anything, Laura looks at your concerns, current skincare, treatment history and any relevant medical information. Please let us know about:

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Current or recent isotretinoin (Roaccutane) use
  • Prescription retinoids and other acne treatments
  • Medicines that affect skin sensitivity, immunity or healing
  • Allergies or past reactions to skincare or peels
  • Cold sores, active infection, broken skin or sunburn
  • Active eczema or dermatitis
  • Poor healing, unusual scarring or pigmentation after past procedures
  • Recent laser, microneedling, waxing, peels or other skin treatments

Any of these may mean your treatment needs adjusting, postponing or a check with your doctor first.

Preparing Your Skin

  • You'll get your own preparation instructions, including guidance on active skincare and sun protection.
  • Please don't come in with sunburn or irritated skin.
  • If your skin changes or you start a new medicine before your appointment, let us know.

Aftercare

  • Don't pick, scrub or pull at any flaking skin.
  • Wear a broad spectrum SPF 50+ every day.
  • Keep your routine gentle and follow your personalised plan for when to bring back retinol and acids.
  • You'll get specific advice on exercise, heat, swimming and saunas while your skin recovers.

“When I assess your skin, I want to understand what is bothering you, what you have already tried and how your skin responds. From there, we can choose an appropriate treatment and a home care routine you can realistically follow. I will explain what we are targeting, what improvement we are looking for and what recovery involves.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same as Cosmo Peel Forte?

No. Cosmo Peel Forte is a different formulation. The treatment on this page is Cosmo Peel 15% TCA.

Can I book before an event?

Mention your event date before you book, and allow enough recovery time, especially for your first treatment.

When can I wear makeup?

It depends on the treatment and how your skin is healing. Follow your aftercare instructions and keep makeup off any raw or healing skin.

When can I go back to retinol and exfoliating acids?

Follow your personalised aftercare plan. Going back to them too early can irritate recovering skin.

What should I avoid while my skin is peeling?

Don't pick, scrub or pull at flaking skin. Stick to your skincare instructions and keep your skin protected from the sun.

What are the risks?

Redness, dryness, sensitivity and peeling are possible. Less commonly, pigment changes, prolonged redness, infection and scarring can occur. We'll go through the risks that apply to you before treatment.

What if my skin reacts unexpectedly?

Get in touch with the clinic if you notice increasing discomfort, significant swelling or any reaction you weren't expecting.

Are results permanent?

Not necessarily. Sun exposure, hormones, ageing and ongoing skin conditions all affect skin over time. We look at maintenance once we've seen how your skin responds.

Can I have a peel during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

We don't offer these Dermaceutic peels during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Get in touch and we can talk about alternatives.

I'm on Roaccutane. Can I book?

Please tell us about any current or recent isotretinoin use before booking. Suitability and timing depend on the peel, your skin and medical advice. Don't stop any prescribed medication without speaking to your prescriber first.

Ready To Understand What Your Skin Needs?
